We all want to help but providing support for a family member that lives in their own home can present many challenges. Now there is a new solution that enables families to share the role of care-giving even though physically apart. It involves a simple but extremely powerful program that connects families in a Circle of Care that allows them to easily exchange information, request help and provide support. The Connected for LifeSM program allows the whole family to become involved and learn what they can do to help….all for less than a dollar per day. In the past families grew up near each other. Now, they often move apart and family connections become more difficult to maintain. Technology has helped us stay in touch. For decades, the instrument providing that connection has been the phone. Although a wonderful tool, the phone has limitations and long distance calling can be expensive. Today, there are more options besides that plain old telephone service. Many of us now use cell phones which have greatly added to freedom of movement and those plain old telephones have become cordless. Phone calls have been supplemented by email and recently email by "texting", especially by younger generations. And now we are finally entering an era when video calls are becoming easier and more commonplace. Each of these technologies can and should play a role in helping us stay connected. And that’s exactly what we have designed in our programs at Home Health Network. "Connected for LifeSM "represents a new paradigm for caregivers and their loved ones. For the first time, technologies are brought together that allow families to stay connected with each other and to share the role of caring and support. |

As we live longer and get older, its not only a good thing to care for each other—it can be critical!!
Caring and participating in the care of others is good for us, for our families and for society.
Families become closer. We learn about each other and from each other.
Children and grandchildren can learn from parents and grandparents....and uncles and aunts.....and cousins. Remember?
Despite our busy lives and living apart, a new connectedness is possible that can help us all participate in the health and welfare of each other.
We can encourage exercise and better eating. We can interact and help each other to stay active, both physically and mentally.
We can observe and be made aware of events or trends that may indicate a need for intervention by health-care professionals.
All of these are possible through your membership in the Connected for LifeSM program. Read more about this exciting, new opportunity here. |
