The Family Health Network Technology Family Health Network brings together emerging technologies to allow seniors to age in their own homes. It does this by enabling scheduled interactions with family and professional caregivers and by monitoring on a continuous basis your loved ones general health and compliance with recommended lifestyle and medication plans.
Family Health Network extends the reach of technology to seniors in our society who have not grown up using computers and keyboards by employing new, low-cost touch screen computers and easy to understand and use "senior screens." These systems and Family Health Network's software enables members to have three way calls between the senior, his or her family, and health care professionals such as doctors or nurses. These calls can be either voice calls or video calls. This allows families to stay in touch and seniors to stay at home without sacrificing care. In addition, the senior’s status is obtained daily through a series of simple questions that ask “Aunt Betty” the following: How are you feeling? How did you sleep? How’s your appetite? Did you take your medications? And Did you do your exercises? The answers to these questions ( called Observations of Daily Living (ODL’s) are recorded and shared with family and health care professionals. In addition, Family Health Network members have access to current and relevant information from industry experts dealing with issues relevant to the aging and to those who love and care for them.
